Valley View has gone a perfect 5-0 against Orange Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Coyotes at 3:15 p.m. Valley View will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Valley View hadn't beaten Poly on the road since April 6, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with a 6-2 win over the Bears.
Bella Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.
At the plate, Valley View saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacqueline Divine, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Orange Vista waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Wildcats 12-6. That's two games straight that the Coyotes have won by exactly six runs.
Macai Johnson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Nevaeh Bachman was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Orange Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Valley View's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Orange Vista, their record is now 9-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Valley View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. However, it's not like Orange Vista struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Valley View's way against Orange Vista when the teams last played back in February, as Valley View made off with a 15-3 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
