Basketball Recap: Fredericksburg Christian Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fredericksburg Christian can now relate to. They were beaten by the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks 84-54 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st in Virginia, while the Mavericks are ranked 28th in Virginia).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miller School of Albemarle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaylen Dyer, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 19 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Crotty, who shot 5-for-7 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards.

Fredericksburg Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Miller School of Albemarle, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-11.

Fredericksburg Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they will square off against Hargrave Military Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Hargrave Military Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Miller School of Albemarle likes a good challenge.
