Punxsutawney finds home court redemption against St. Marys

There's no place like home for the Punxsutawney Chucks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They took down St. Marys 53-36 on Wednesday. This was a revenge contest for Punxsutawney, as the team was forced to settle for a 46-44 loss when these two played last Monday.

Despite the loss, St. Marys still got an impressive performance from Ben Paul, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Quin Gavazzi, who scored five points along with two steals.

Punxsutawney now has a winning record of 7-6. As for St. Marys, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Punxsutawney will head out on the road to challenge DuBois at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Punxsutawney will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while DuBois is ranked 124th). As for St. Marys, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Elk County Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Marys focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
