Baseball Recap: Latta Takes a Loss

Latta fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hannah-Pamplico on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 9-8. That makes it the first time this season the Vikings have let down their home crowd.

Seth Minshew led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Lane, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Latta's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Hannah-Pamplico, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Latta is set to take on their familiar foe Carvers Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hannah-Pamplico will square off against rival Lake View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
