Softball Recap: Marshfield's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Marshfield and Hanover pushed the score to 12-8 the last time they played Hanover, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Rams' pitcher stepped up to hand the Hawks a 3-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The result came thanks to Caroline Arruda's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madison Adams was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Marshfield pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hanover, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Marshfield will welcome Norwell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hanover, they will head out on the road to square off against East Bridgewater at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
