Softball Recap: Cambria Heights' Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cambria Heights came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Northern Cambria Colts with a sharp 13-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 on Wednesday.

Alyssa Miller looked comfortable as she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Gina Lane was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one double. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Ellie Bender was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Cambria Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cambria Heights' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Northern Cambria, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cambria Heights will head out to face off against Marion Center at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Stingers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Highlanders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northern Cambria, they will head out on the road to square off against Blacklick Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
