Softball Recap: Topsail Gets the Win

Topsail saw some tournament action on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Southern Nash Firebirds. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Madyson Turlington made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bristol Chamblee, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Riley Trimble, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Topsail's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Southern Nash, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-1.

Topsail has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against D.H. Conley on the 3rd. As for Southern Nash, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against C.B. Aycock on the 14th.
