Baseball Recap: Shepherd Gets the Win

Shepherd can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Clare Pioneers 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bluejays have posted since April 16th.

Jacoby Polzin was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Sam King was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Shepherd's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Clare, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Shepherd is set to take on their familiar foe Gladwin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clare will challenge rival Harrison at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
