Basketball Recap: Benedictine Triumphs

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Benedictine ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by the St. Mary's Saints 74-73. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cadets.

St. Mary's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chisom Eze, who went 8-for-11 en route to 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gavin Johnson, who posted 15 points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

Benedictine now has a winning record of 2-1. As for St. Mary's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Benedictine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 86-41 loss against Archbishop Carroll on the 29th. As for St. Mary's, they have also already played their next contest, a 68-60 win against Sandy Spring Friends on the 29th.
