Volleyball Recap: Barstow Takes a Loss

Barstow suffered their biggest loss since August 19th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Granite Hills Cougars. The shutout was out of character for the Aztecs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Barstow was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-12, 25-23.

The defeat snapped Barstow's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 10-8 record. As for Granite Hills, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-6.

Barstow and Granite Hills should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Aztecs will square off against Adelanto at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (485 vs. 1178). Meanwhile, Granite Hills (ranked 464th) will meet Silverado (ranked 943rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
