Vinson Berry of Creekside is the Georgia High School Football Player of the Week

Senior quarterback came up big in win over Lithia Springs.

After receiving more than 27,000 votes, Vinson Berry of Creekside (Fairburn) has earned MaxPreps Georgia High School Football Player of the Week honors.

Berry, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound senior quarterback, had four passing touchdowns and a rushing score in 49-6 win over Lithia Springs. He has helped the Seminoles to a 3-1 start this season.

Here are the rest of this week's candidates, who collectively garnered more than 23,000 votes:

Austin Clemons, Bryan County (Pembroke): Senior rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns and recorded 14 tackles and three sacks in 22-14 win over Portal.

Deron Foster, Valdosta: Freshman running back rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries in 55-0 win over Deerfield Beach of Florida.



Trey Horne, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap): Senior Georgia Tech commit threw for a touchdown, ran for a score and returned a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns, scoring four total times in a 52-31 win over Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch, CO).

DeShun Horsley, East Coweta (Sharpsburg): Senior wide receiver caught five passes for 216 yards and four touchdowns in 42-30 victory over Lowndes.

Zion Johnson, Newton (Covington): On the ground, the junior had 140 yards and three touchdowns. The three-star running back also added a 70-yard punt return touchdown in a 27-12 win over Westlake.

Julian Lewis, Carrollton: The nation's top sophomore completed 80 percent of his passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns in 47-14 win over Jenkins.

Cohen Peeples, East Coweta (Sharpsburg): Junior quarterback threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns. On the ground he added two rushing touchdowns in 42-30 win over Lowndes.

Aaron Philo, Prince Avenue Christian (Athens): Senior Georgia Tech commit completed 68 percent of his passes for 408 yards and six touchdowns. He added a touchdown on the ground in the 58-18 win over Eagle's Landing Christian Academy.

Nick Woodford, Northeast (Macon): Junior running back had 21 carries for 314 rushing yards and five touchdowns in 52-26 win over Academy for Classical Education.
