Football Game Preview: Hubbard Eagles vs. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions

The Hubbard Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hubbard is headed into Friday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-31 heartbreaker at the hands of South Range.

Hubbard might have lost, but man, Michael Hazimihalis was a machine: he rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 66 receiving yards and one TD. Hazimihalis' longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Braydon Songer, who rushed for 57 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin faced off against Lake Catholic on Saturday. The Lions took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Hubbard suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 7-3. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, their record is now an identical 7-3.
