Basketball Recap: Joplin Takes a Loss

Joplin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to the Webb City Cardinals on the road by a 69-55 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 73-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Webb City was led to victory by Eli Pace and Holton Keith. Pace shot 53% from the field to rack up 28 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards, while Keith dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten rebounds. Keith's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Slade Hurd, who posted nine points.

Joplin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Webb City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.

As of now, neither Joplin nor Webb City have any future games scheduled.
