Basketball Recap: Lakeside Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Lakeside had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Tescott Trojans 24-22. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Lakeside found their leader in sophomore Kaylee Otte, who posted 13 points along with seven boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Otte a new career-high in boards.

Lakeside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Tescott lost, don't look at Ava Adams. Despite the final result, she put up six points and nine rebounds.

Lakeside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-35 defeat against Stockton on the 10th. As for Tescott, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 27-24 victory against Natoma on the 9th.
