Softball Recap: Carmel Takes a Loss

Carmel had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 7-5 to make it four. They fell 4-1 to the Brewster Bears. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

As for Brewster, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-10. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly three runs.

For Brewster's part, Arianna Arocho spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Slavkin, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Medina, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

As of now, neither Carmel nor Brewster have any future games scheduled.
