Football Recap: West Memphis Blue Devils vs. Catholic Rockets
West Memphis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Catholic Rockets at home and fell 41-13. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Catholic had a senior duo take command as Jackson England threw for 328 yards and six touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes and Braxton Burks picked up 170 receiving yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, Burks is now averaging an impressive 112.5 receiving yards per game.
West Memphis' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Catholic, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
West Memphis is taking a road trip to challenge Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Catholic, they will host Jonesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jonesboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 26.8 points per game this season.
