Basketball Recap: Joshua Christian Comes Up Short

Joshua Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Temple Christian Watchmen, falling 54-29. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Watchmen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Temple Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Silas Riggins led the charge by putting up 26 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Riggins has scored at least a third of Temple Christian's points. Jackson Murray was another key player, earning 15 points.

Joshua Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Temple Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Joshua Christian will square off against Heritage Christian Athletics at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian Athletics has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 215 points over their last three games. As for Temple Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-45 defeat against Providence Academy on the 18th.
