The Wilmington Wildcats will take on the Crete-Monee Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilmington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Wilmington faced off against Lisle on Tuesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 9-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lexi Strohm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taylor Stefancic, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ally Allgood, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wilmington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lisle only managed three hits.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Crete-Monee's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Blue Island Eisenhower by a score of 11-10.

The win made it two in a row for Wilmington and bumps their season record up to 15-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Crete-Monee, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
