Recap: Marshall Owls vs. Fulton Hornets
The Marshall Owls were the 68-60 winner over the Fulton Hornets when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Marshall fell to Fulton 62-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Marshall's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephen Caviness, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Deacon Arends, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Marshall and nudges their season record down to 8-14. As for Fulton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will challenge Hannibal at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 502 points over their last eight matches. As for Fulton, they will head out on the road to take on Kirksville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fulton is coming into the contest with five straight wins on the road, meaning Kirksville will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
