Baseball Recap: Pope John Paul II Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Pope John Paul II faced off against E.D. White on Wednesday. The Pope John Paul II Jaguars fell 5-2 to the E.D. White Cardinals. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Pope John Paul II saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Dieudonne, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Pope John Paul II hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Pope John Paul II's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for E.D. White, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

Pope John Paul II will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy at 5:00 p.m. on April 7th. As for E.D. White, they will square off against South Lafourche at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Lafourche is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
