Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Panthers vs. Fairfield Trojans

Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2019, but likely not for long. The Panthers will welcome the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Pleasant has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Mt. Pleasant came up short against Muscatine and fell 11-8. The Panthers have struggled against the Muskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Fairfield beat Moravia 9-5 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Mt. Pleasant now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Fairfield, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Mt. Pleasant suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Fairfield when the teams last played back in June of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
