Basketball Recap: Lake Nona Comes Up Short

Lake Nona lost against East River back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lake Nona Lions took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East River Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Falcons are ranked 141st).

This is the second loss in a row for Lake Nona and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for East River, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Lake Nona will face off against Cypress Creek on Tuesday. Cypress Creek will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lake Nona surely won't give up without a fight. East River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
