Academic Magnet has gone a perfect 3-0 against Charleston Math & Science recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Raptors will head out on the road to challenge the Riptide at 5:30 p.m. Academic Magnet has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Izzy Paul was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. Madalynn Howe also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Charleston Math & Science played against Scott's Branch on Thursday and won via forfeit.

With the win, Charleston Math & Science broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9. As for Academic Magnet, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Academic Magnet took their victory against Charleston Math & Science in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raptors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
