Soccer Game Preview: Taylor vs. Father Lopez

The Taylor Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Father Lopez Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Taylor managed to keep up with DeLand until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Taylor lost 9-1 to DeLand. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of Julie Rubio, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Father Lopez came up short against Trinity Catholic on Friday, falling 4-1.

Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Father Lopez, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-3.

Everything went Taylor's way against Father Lopez in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as Taylor made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taylor since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
