Baseball Recap: East Jordan Gets the Win

East Jordan won the last time they faced Johannesburg-Lewiston and things went their way on Thursday too. The Red Devils came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Bradyn Russell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, William Webb was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brady Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

East Jordan's record is now 10-4. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Jordan will host Elk Rapids at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they will welcome Atlanta at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
