Basketball Game Preview: University Trojans vs. Claremont Wolfpack

Having just played yesterday, the University Trojans will jump right back in to play the Claremont Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

University is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight games dating back to last season on Tuesday. They fell 45-37 to Glendora.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-43, which was the final score in Claremont's tilt against Roosevelt on Tuesday.

University will need to focus on slowing down Nolan Zitar, one of several Claremont players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6-for-10 to rack up 12 points and five assists. Aaron Gapo was another key player, shooting 42% from the field en route to 12 points.

University's record is now 0-2. As for Claremont, their record now sits at an identical 0-2.

University came out on top in a nail-biter against Claremont in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, sneaking past 71-68. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Wolfpack's Joshua Chen, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 17 points and eight assists. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be easier for the Trojans to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
