Football Recap: Marvin Ridge Gets the Win + How To Watch

The matchup between Marvin Ridge and Cuthbertson on Friday hardly resembled the 7-6 effort from their previous meeting. The Mavericks had just enough and edged out the Cavaliers 31-28. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Mavericks considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Jake Robbins had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Marvin Ridge is 2-1 when Robbins posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise. Anthony Fuller made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Despite the loss, Cuthbertson still got an impressive performance from Mason Iovino, who rushed for 311 yards and three scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Iovino really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.

Marvin Ridge's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Cuthbertson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Marvin Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks' defense better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 27 points per game this season. As for Cuthbertson, they will head out on the road to take on Porter Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
