Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Falls Short of Abbeville Christian Academy in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cornerstone Christian can now relate to. They fell to the Abbeville Christian Academy Generals 60-55. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Generals from their previous meeting back in January of 2017.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zeke Adams, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. What's more, Adams also racked up six assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Seth Dillard was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Even though they lost, Cornerstone Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Abbeville Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Buckhannon, who went 9-for-21 on his way to 26 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Riddge Crawford, who went 7-for-13 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Cornerstone Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.

Cornerstone Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, they and Escambia Academy will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Escambia Academy will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Abbeville Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
