Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lower Richland couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Augusta Yellow Jackets on Monday. The Diamond Hornets' loss signaled the end of their 16-game winning streak.

Several Diamond Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taelor Hiller-Johnson, who posted six points along with seven boards and three blocks. Hiller-Johnson is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Jhnai Sumter was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Kenedi Wright was the offensive standout of the match as she almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Celena Grant, who scored 11 points and seven boards.

Lower Richland suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 25-2. As for North Augusta, the victory was the 26th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 29-1.

Lower Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Augusta, they will take on Westside at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Westside will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something North Augusta surely won't give up without a fight.
