Baseball Game Preview: Nanuet Golden Knights vs. Clarkstown South Vikings

The Nanuet Golden Knights will head out on the road to take on the Clarkstown South Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but Nanuet sidestepped Croton-Harmon for a 6-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Knights.

Meanwhile, Clarkstown South got themselves on the board against John Jay on Wednesday, but John Jay never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wolves 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since May 1, 2024.

Not much got past Nick Speckenbach, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep John Jay off the board.

At the plate, John Olivieri was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Clarkstown South now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Nanuet, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Nanuet couldn't quite get it done against Clarkstown South in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Golden Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
