Softball Preview: Calvary Baptist Cougars vs. Hawthorne Cougars
Calvary Baptist will take on Hawthorne at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Calvary Baptist's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Academy of Careers & Exploration with a sharp 14-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Reagan Hanson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
