Football Game Preview: Demopolis Tigers vs. Elmore County Panthers + Official Tickets

The Demopolis Tigers will face off against the Elmore County Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Demopolis lost to Wetumpka on the road by a 23-7 margin. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, while Elmore County put up some points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Chilton County. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 28-0. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Tigers are ranked 240th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elmore County's win came from a few key players Demopolis will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gage Davis, who threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Elmore County also got a significant boost from Eli Thames, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

The win (which was Elmore County's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.7 points on average over those games. As for Demopolis, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Everything went Demopolis' way against Elmore County when the teams last played back in November of 2022, as Demopolis made off with a 48-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
