Basketball Recap: Brooks Extends Winning Streak to Four

Brooks waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 56-48 win over the Dunbar Mightymen. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 74-54 victory the Mightymen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Leading Brooks to victory were Elijah Curl and Bryce Hayes. Curl made all 6 shots he took racking up 16 points and three blocks, while Hayes went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points. That's the most blocks Curl has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Macauri Sias, who posted ten points.

Brooks is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Dunbar, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

Brooks will square off against Woodlawn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodlawn knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Brooks likes a good challenge. As for Dunbar, they will host Air Force Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
