Volleyball Recap: Juliana Heinrichs' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Anna over New Bremen

Anna entered their game against New Bremen on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Rockets came up short against the Cardinals, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Anna was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-23, 25-12.

Anna's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juliana Heinrichs, who had 21 assists. Heinrichs is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Leading New Bremen to victory were Allie Bornhorst and Charlotte Nelson. Bornhorst had six digs and two aces, while Nelson had 18 assists and five digs.

Anna suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 8-5. As for New Bremen, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Looking ahead, Anna will face off against New Knoxville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Bremen, they will square off against Parkway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
