Sage Ridge took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Virginia City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Scorpions skirted past the Muckers 3-2.

Sage Ridge took Virginia City into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-19, 25-21, 18-25, 15-13.

The victory got Sage Ridge back to even at 4-4. As for Virginia City, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coincidentally, Sage Ridge and Virginia City will both be playing Mineral County the next time they take the court. The Scorpions will head out to face the Serpents at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Muckers will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
