Basketball Game Preview: Barr-Reeve Vikings vs. Jasper Wildcats

The Barr-Reeve Vikings will head out to take on the Jasper Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Barr-Reeve is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Friday, Barr-Reeve was fully in charge, breezing past Shoals 53-21. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Jasper lost to New Albany at home by a 69-52 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Bulldogs are ranked tenth).

Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Barr-Reeve, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Barr-Reeve came up short against Jasper in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 49-45. Can Barr-Reeve avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
