Volleyball Recap: Oregon Falls Despite Big Games from Devin Howard and Alexis Fields

Oregon lost against Milton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Red Hawks. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Milton scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 18-25, 25-22.

Oregon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alexis Fields, who had 17 digs and three assists, and Devin Howard, who had 11 digs and two aces. Fields is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Elise Wieters, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Oregon's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Milton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Oregon has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Carmel on the 27th. As for Milton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Marshfield on the 27th.
