Softball Recap: Coronado Wins Going Away Against Silverado

Coronado extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Silverado. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Skyhawks. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Coronado got a great performance from Aubrie Sisler as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Bailey Goldberg was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Chase Magdaleno also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Coronado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 11-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Silverado, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Coronado will challenge Shadow Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. Silverado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
