Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Island). They blew past the Galesburg Silver Streaks 17-0 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Rocks as they're now sitting on three straight.
Lilly McDaniel made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, A'Rion Lonergan was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. TJ Sepulveda was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Rock Island always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
