Baseball Recap: Beaver River Triumphs

Beaver River came out on top against Carthage on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Beavers took their game against the Comets 9-6. The win continues a trend for the Beavers in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won five in a row.

Karter Kloster made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kade Schneider, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Chris Evan, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Beaver River's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Carthage, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.

Coming up, Carthage will face off against Indian River at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaver River will be paying especially close attention to the Comets' match: after the Comets face off against the Wolves, they'll take on Beaver River again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
