Baseball Game Preview: Fall River Pirates vs. Cambria-Friesland Hilltoppers

For the second straight game, Fall River will face off against Cambria-Friesland. The Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Hilltoppers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fall River will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Fall River came out on top against Cambria-Friesland on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Pirates won by a run and slipped past the Hilltoppers 6-5.

The team relied heavily on Mason Powell, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Veith, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Fall River's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cambria-Friesland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.
