Baseball Recap: Freeman Comes Up Short

If Freeman was riding high fresh off their 15-1 takedown of Hermitage on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mavericks fell 7-3 to the Highland Springs Springers on Wednesday. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Springers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Freeman has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Highland Springs, their record is now 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeman will welcome Deep Run at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Highland Springs, they will host Henrico at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
