Basketball Recap: Middlesboro Comes Up Short

Middlesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Harlan County Black Bears. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Black Bears from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Middlesboro's loss dropped their record down to 11-9-1. As for Harlan County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-13.

Coming up, Middlesboro will challenge Jenkins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Harlan County, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Clay County on Saturday.
