Basketball Recap: Clay Takes a Loss

Clay was the 44-28 winner over Yulee when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Clay Blue Devils might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Yulee Hornets an easy 46-26 victory. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Clay still got an impressive performance from Hailie Miera, who posted six points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Miera a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kathryn Moran, who put up six points.

Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Yulee, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-7.

After both having extra time off, Clay and Northside Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Yulee, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Charlton County at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
