Basketball Recap: Richmond Piles Up the Points Against Peck

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richmond). They blew past the Peck Pirates 60-32 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Peck's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Thomas West, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Lucas Trombley, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds. West has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played.

Richmond has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Peck, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Armada at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Armada will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Richmond surely won't give up without a fight. As for Peck, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Sandusky at 7:30 p.m.
