The Horse Creek Academy Stallions will head out to take on the American Leadership Academy Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Horse Creek Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully American Leadership Academy likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, everything went Horse Creek Academy's way against Wagener-Salley as Horse Creek Academy made off with an 11-1 win. The Stallions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Bryce Gunter and Iniko Barker were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Gunter struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Barker tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. At the plate, Gunter scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Barker scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Barker a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Brice Abney was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. He is becoming a predictor of Horse Creek Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Kanagy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Horse Creek Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for American Leadership Academy's offense. They came up short against Saluda on Tuesday, falling 7-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.
American Leadership Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Cantor, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Horse Creek Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for American Leadership Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Horse Creek Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like American Leadership Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
