Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans vs. Parkston Trojans
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 17-2 to the Parkston Trojans.
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Overbay, who went 1-for-1 with a stolen base and an RBI.
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Parkston, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing McCook Central/Montrose the next time they take the field. Parkston will head out to face McCook Central/Montrose at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
