Baseball Game Preview: West Florence Knights vs. Spring Valley Vikings

The West Florence Knights will challenge the Spring Valley Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Florence has seven straight victories, Spring Valley has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, West Florence was able to grind out a solid win over Spring Valley, taking the game 10-5. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly five runs.

Newt Hinson was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was James Arthur, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

West Florence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Valley only posted an OBP of .429.

Spring Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for West Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.
