Basketball Recap: Sherwood Bowmen vs. Century Jaguars
The Sherwood Bowmen won the last time they faced the Century Jaguars, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Sherwood took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 61-28 win over the Jaguars. Given Sherwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Jaguars are ranked 172nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Century's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abbie Scharringhausen, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, and Olivia Ervin who scored two points.
Sherwood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Century, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sherwood will take on the Vikings at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Century's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Grizzlies at 5:45 p.m. on February 2nd. McMinnville will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
