Softball Preview: String Theory vs. Olney Trojans
String Theory will head out on the road to square off against the Olney Trojans at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. String Theory is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Last Friday, String Theory was able to grind out a solid victory over Freire Charter, taking the game 12-7.
Veronica Cattai and Alexa Pietrafesa did most of the damage at the plate: Cattai scored two runs while going 1-for-1, while Pietrafesa went 1-for-2 with a home run. Ava Matteo was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, Olney narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Thomas A. Edison 7-6. The victory was just what Olney needed coming off of a 23-8 defeat in their prior match.
String Theory's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Olney, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
String Theory was able to grind out a solid win over Olney when the teams last played back in April of 2023, winning 16-11. Does String Theory have another victory up their sleeve, or will Olney turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
